Challenge: Redeveloping an existing three-storey retail premises into a tall residential building.


D&L Input: Development & Light worked closely with the design team to define the appropriate massing profile. This entailed assessing the evolving development context in the locality to identify appropriate alternative Daylight & Sunlight benchmarks beyond the typical BRE parameters.


Outcome: An approved 21-storey development delivering 225 residential units and setting the tone for the emerging neighbouring development context.
